A report based on a critical analysis of an emerging technological innovation — Drone Technology- specifically focusing on a product from a particular company. The chosen innovation must have been announced, implemented, or released to the market after 1 January 2023 (i.e., it should be fairly new). The report should:
- Introduce/classify your choice of technological innovation, including a critical analysis of the technology trend, market and competition context
- Critically discuss organisational practices used by the company to develop, diffuse and protect your choice of technological innovation
- Conduct a critical analysis of both internal and external barriers that impede the development and commercialisation of your chosen technological innovation
- Carry out a critical analysis of the key factors likely to contribute to your choice of technological innovation's success or failure
When working on this report, you should utilize all relevant module materials and apply appropriate innovation tools and theories throughout your analysis. The report must demonstrate clarity, logical structure, critical thinking, and creativity. Enhance your work with illustrations, tables, figures, and appendices where applicable. Additional instructions on report preparation will be provided during the lecture and seminar sessions.
Choose a topic that genuinely interests you and confirm your choice here. Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that your chosen technological innovation meets the above criteria and provides sufficient valid information for this coursework.
Section B (10%) - Suggested word count: 300 words
Using examples from the innovation simulation (currently scheduled to take place during University week 15), and reflecting on relevant module content, critically discuss your learning and the causes of success/failure in New Product Development.
