Assessment 2 – Portfolio (2000 words)
A portfolio of written work as a record of evidence of learning acquired on-campus and practical coaching observations conducted outside of structured university-based classroom/practical activities.
Completing this assessment will show that students are able:
- LO2: Recognise and explain safe, ethical, inclusive, and effective coaching practices
- LO3: Review and discuss coach behaviour by making links between theory and practice
- LO4: Construct a reflective account of learning acquired from relevant training and qualifications

- Font size 11 or 12, Times New Roman or Arial, 1.5 lined spacing;
- All assignments should be submitted via Turnitin on the module Aula site
- The stipulated word limit must not be exceeded to ensure that all student work is treated equitably
Introduction and Overview (~200 words)
- Present an intro/overview of the experiences you have had over the course of this module with regards to workshops and coaching observations.
- Provide a brief description of the workshops that you attended and also the coaching sessions that you observed as part of your 10 hours of coach observation.
Section 2 – Safe, ethical, inclusive and effective coaching practises (~700 words)
- Outline how the workshops you took part in and the coach observations you made were safe, ethical, inclusive and contained effective coaching practises (i.e., coaching behaviours).
- Within this section you will need to link your experiences to the academic literature and provide sources that either support or refute your experiences.
Section 3 – Reflective account (~700 words)
- Discuss what you have learned throughout your time in the module, during practical sessions, workshops and coach observations.
- How might you use what you have learned in future practice? What are your strengths and weaknesses within what you have learned? How will you develop your weaknesses and maintain your strengths?
Section 4 – Conclusion (~400 words)
- Bring your work to a close by summarising what experiences you gained (practicals, workshops and observations), why these were beneficial and how reflective practise will help you plan your development.
- Within this section, you must identify one key area of development for each: Academic, Personal, Professional competencies.
