people were killed, and thousands lost their homes and businesses
In the neighboring state of Floribama, the partners at DC&H, LLP, an experienced class action law firm, saw a great opportunity. DC&H began taking out ads in Louisissippi, inviting victims
of the hurricane to join in a class action suit against the state of Louisissippi. The ads encouraged Louisissippians to contact DC&cH to join the class.
Eventually, DC&H went before the US District Court for the District of Louisissippi to certify
the class. Judge Everett Sketchy was assigned to the case. Judge Sketchy's wife owns the
Down& Out Insurance Company, specializing in homeowner's insurance, but the judge is not
concerned about that.
