Assignment 9 - Video Presentation on Human Behavioral Theories
Students will present a 5-7 minute video presentation comparing several of the most significant theories discussed in the textbook. The presentation should be conducted as if the student is the professor teaching a graduate level night class. Please see the instructions below.
1. When you present, make sure you do not read straight from some script. I am looking for you to really know the topics and present it with confidence. In the real world you would not just read something to a class and bore them to death, so please bring some personality and creativity.
2. The following four concepts are to be introduced and shared with the class: (textbook pages)
Human Resources Development Theory (pages 5-9). Theory X and Y and Likert's Four Systems
Field Theory of Behavior (pages 31-32). Kurt Lewin's formula B = f (p . e)
The Humanistic Perspective (pages 143-153) Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, Lyman Porter's adaptation, and Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory
Iceberg of Ignorance Theory - (Google this theory and see the attached picture graphic below) Discuss this concept within a school setting using the school principal as the top of the leadership chain who only knows 4% of the problem.
3. Make sure you connect each of these theories to the school environment and to your personal leadership experience and philosophy.
I look forward to learning from you regarding these theories!
