BDA Summative Assessment Brief 2025
Luxora Business Report
Luxora, a global fashion and lifestyle e-retailer established in 2012, is committed to making stylish, high-quality fashion accessible to all. Utilizing on-demand manufacturing technology, the company connects suppliers with a flexible supply chain, minimizing inventory waste while offering a diverse selection of affordable, trend-driven products to customers in over 150 countries.
With nearly 10,000 employees worldwide—58% of whom are women—Luxora has grown rapidly. Its digital-first approach primarily engages consumers through mobile devices, online platforms, and social media, cementing its status as a go-to shopping destination for fashion enthusiasts. Dedicated to continuous innovation, the brand curates an ever-evolving range of styles that empower individuals to express their unique identities.
Luxora invests in technology, training, and financial resources to support manufacturers, small businesses, illustrators, and designers. By leveraging advanced design and sourcing innovations, the company stays ahead of fashion trends, ensuring fast and efficient global production and delivery.
With a fully digital supply chain, Luxora maintains real-time communication with factories, enabling small-batch production and a wide variety of on-trend styles. This approach minimizes inventory waste while ensuring quick and seamless order fulfilment, reinforcing its leadership in the modern fashion industry. However, the company recently observed that one of the older machines in its production line is struggling and breaking down more frequently.
Accordingly, as a work placement from the University of Roehampton, you have been set a number of tasks, the results of which should be presented in business report format for Luxora Ltd (word length 2000, excluding graphs/figures/references) and written in English.
These tasks are detailed in the following pages and generally concern (in alphabetical order):
- Customer information
- Production information
- Quality assurance information
- Recommendations for factory improvement
- Summary information
Your report should not simply be a list of tasks. Rather, it should read as a professional business report with an introduction, sections, summary, references and appendices, all in Word format.
All tasks are worth ten marks each.
Please Note: Academic integrity and honesty are fundamental to the academic work you produce at the University of Roehampton. You are expected to complete coursework which is your own and which is referenced appropriately. The university has in place measures to detect academic dishonesty in all its forms. If you are found to be cheating or attempting to gain an unfair advantage over other students in any way, this is considered academic misconduct and you will be penalised accordingly.
Task 1
You have been asked to write a brief overview of Metaverse marketing and customer experience personalisation. Having looked at graphs found in pages 6 and 7 of the report: The Marketing personalization worldwide, you can see many potentials. (Note: This report is also available in Moodle (The Marketing personalization worldwide 2025 article).
Write a brief overview based on the two sections Metaverse marketing and customer experience personalisation. Your overview should be no more than two paragraphs. You should not copy verbatim the information contained in the report. The proper Harvard reference for this report should be included as one of your references in task 10. See page 6- 7 marketing personalization worldwide.
Task 2
Luxora has provided you with current information about ways in which brands fail at engaging with customers, the figure below. For example, 59+ age group reported 72% lack of relevance.

Figure 1, Ways in which brands fail at engaging with their target market according to consumers from selected countries worldwide as of May 2023, by age group (Statista, 2025)
Using an EXCEL spreadsheet:
a) Generate a clustered bar for Figure 1, and summarise ways in which brands can better engage with consumers (150 words).
Having received further information, the Market value of personalisation in Fashion Retail worldwide from 2018 to 2027 is most interesting using the table below:
Years | Market value of Personalisation in Fashion Retail worldwide from 2018 to 2027 (in million €) |
2018 | 288 |
2019 | 366 |
2020 | 475 |
2021 | 634 |
2022 | 862 |
2023 | 959 |
2024 | 1105 |

b) Produce an appropriate scatter diagram based on this new data. Use your diagram to make a linear forecast of the Market Value of Personalisation in Fashion Worldwide.
Task 3
Having gained a better understanding of the benefits of successful personalization strategy, you decide to start analysing the graph below: Figure 3.

Figure 3, Revenue of Personalization Marketing Strategy 2018-2027
From your graph, create a line chart. Give a brief summary of the potential expansion to the region.
Task 4
Luxora's operations currently rely on two distinct production lines—one utilizing a new device and the other operating with a relatively older device. Recent monitoring indicates that the failure probability for the new device is 0.25%, while the older device has a failure probability of 0.75%. The quality assurance department requires a 99.999% probability that at least one device remains operational at all times. Assess whether Luxora meets this requirement
Task 5
The idea of buying a new device to replace the older one arose at the last management team meeting. The older one would not be sold but could be used as backup if necessary. If Luxora does decide to replace the older devices and buy new ones, the finance dept has indicated that the maximum monthly payment they could afford, based on current profit forecasts for the next six years, would be £2000 p.m. The Company’s bankers would be able to offer an interest rate of 8% to borrow the £95,000 cost of the new device. What range of months would you recommend that the loan is taken over to keep within Luxora’s budget?
Task 6
Luxora makes high-quality sustainable products in its factory in the UK and currently uses two products to fill the components. A sample of 40 components from the first products has a mean weight of 250 g and a standard deviation of 40 g. A sample of 30 packets from the second products has a mean weight of 240 g and a standard deviation of 15 g.
State the six-point procedure for hypothesis testing and test if the two products are comparable in terms of putting the same amount in packets?
Task 7
The company has asked you to complete a Pros & Cons table similar to the one shown in figure T7) to help in deciding about personalizing customer shopping experience in Singapore (see Marketing Personalization Worldwide page 25 in Moodle). Update the table and include it in your report.
Task 8
The company monitors customer satisfaction via social media and through its website. Each customer is asked to complete a short survey containing the questions shown in figure T8.

Figure 8, A short customer questionnaire.
Latest results are contained in the Excel File “Task 8” contained in Moodle. Use Excel to calculate respectively the average values for recent purchase, overall shopping experience and recommendation, and briefly summarise your findings.
Task 9
Having explored Fast-Fashion Environmental Impact (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AEr0tpTAMs). Prepare a brief initial SWOT analysis about the Fast-Fashion Environmental Impact (only three issues in each of the SWOT categories).
Task 10
Based on all the data you have considered in Tasks 1-9, summarise in just one or two paragraphs your most important findings. Also, check the overall structure and presentation of your report (see the Brief in Moodle for more details), including your key references in Harvard style
