You are in charge of a group of three (3) to four (4) year old children in the outdoor play area when one of the children kicks his ball over the fence. He starts crying and tells you his mum is going to be angry because this is a new ball, and he wasnt allowed to bring it to Kindy. You only have a small group of children, so you decide to quickly jump over the fence to retrieve the ball.
You were not gone for more than a minute and you could see the group through the fence the whole time.
A short time later another Educator comes out to the yard to relieve you and says that the Nominated Supervisor has asked to see you in her office. She has found out that you jumped the fence to retrieve the ball and asks you to explain your actions.
Clearly explain the breaches involved in this scenario in relation to:

Case study 2
The lead educator and you have planned an excursion to the local park for the children. On the morning of the excursion you realise that Sally does not have a written permission form for the excursion. You discuss this with your lead educator, she said that she spoke to Sallys Mum this morning and that Sallys Mum said it was okay to take Sally on the excursion. Sallys Mum also said that she did not have time to fill out the written permission form as she was running late for work. The lead educator said that she was just going to get Sallys Mum to complete the form when she collected Sally in the afternoon.
You know that Sally really wants to go on the excursion with the other children so you take her.
During the excursion Sally falls off the slide and hurts her arm. Your lead educator says that she does not want to report Sallys incident as she is worried that she has not followed the correct regulations and procedures in regards to having written permission for Sally to attend the excursion.
Sallys Mum arrives in the afternoon to collect her and the lead educator does not notify Sallys Mum of the incident.
You know that all of the service policy and procedures closely follow the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the Code of Ethics in situations such as these.
