Before submitting the final project, you must complete an annotated bibliography using Chicago style. Your bibliography must include:

2 primary sources 5 academic secondary sources

  1. A primary source is direct evidence related to the issue you are studying.

For this project, primary sources may include legal documents such as treaties, legislation, court decisions, UN materials, or other official texts.

In addition, social media should be used as a primary sources as well, according to the methodology discussed in class. 

Guiding research question: how are legal ideas debated, simplified, reshaped, politicized and spread in public digital spaces?

  1. A secondary source is a peer-reviewed academic publication that analyzes or interprets the issue, such as a scholarly journal article, academic book, or chapter in an edited volume. News articles, blogs, opinion pieces, advocacy materials, Wikipedia, and AI-generated summaries do not count as academic secondary sources.

Under each citation, write 4–5 sentencesexplaining:

what the source is whether it is primary or secondary what it contributes to your topic how you plan to use it in your final project The goal is to show that you are building a project grounded in legal evidence, scholarly research, and public/digital debate.
