In one or two paragraphs write a fictional story (although it can be based on an experience you have had) that presents a potential financial or management ethical dilemma a nonprofit manager might face. For example, there may be leftover beverages from a recent board meeting or gala. The executive director is having a dinner party at their home and wants to save money on the event. Do not provide a solution to your story. Instead, invite your classmates to offer possible resolutions or recommendations for the executive director. Then, respond to at least two other shared stories with your recommended solutions and what brought you to these conclusions. To complete this assignment, review the Discussion Rubric.
2.Search online for a local or regional chapter of a large nonprofit organization like United Way, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, or American Red Cross (your choice). Visit that agency’s website and find any financial information that the organization has released for a recent year (2015 or later). Provide their name, location, and a summary of the services they provide to your community. Then describe the financial information you have collected – for example, statement of financial position, statement of activities, or statement of cash flows. Does the company release additional information other than the required financial statements? Why do you think it is important for nonprofit agencies to be transparent in releasing their financial information to the public? 3.Revisit the matrix you created in Module Two and expanded on in Milestone Four, and insert your findings. Provide a brief description of each and an outline of their use for each document or resource you have collected. Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria: Documents or Resources Collected: Identify three to five resources the organization provides that explain its financial practices, how it raises funds, who it works with (either as members or affiliates), or services it provides. This list is not exhaustive or limited, but rather, includes suggestions. Description of Each Resource: Describe the content of each document or resource collected. Use of Resources: Describe how the organization uses each resource. 4. Respond to the following in a 3- to 4-minute video. Address your response to Jean as an HR professional: Acknowledge and address Jean’s concerns about age discrimination. Share with Jean what experience and talents of hers were considered while explaining the factors that led to the hiring decision. Outline one suggestion to help Jean acquire the experience she needs to potentially be selected for the role in the future 5. Respond to the following using email format: Write a response to the manager explaining the importance of socialization during the onboarding phase. Provide at least two suggestions for the manager to implement. Suggest how the manager can check to measure the success of the plan.
