In the Unit on Food Production, as well as in the unit on Water Management, there is one aspect that was only mentioned tangentially. We get a lot of food from the ocean, but at the current pace, its unsustainable. Partly through overfishing, but also because of the effect of human pollution in the oceans. Add to that the effects of climate change and "Huston, we have a problem". 

For your midterm I want you to identify 3 challenges we confront in managing the oceans as food source and 3 concrete or specific sustainable solutions that are currently been tried to address these issues. Then right a short summary on how these solutions could form part of a bigger global effort to sustain our oceans.

I am giving you a list of careers in sustainability. Pick one of these or if you would like to explore one that is not on the list, feel free to do that. Research the careers. In particular, look at the department of Labor statistics to gather data on job opportunities, educational requirements, possible employers, salary, etc. Make a power point presentation consisting of minimum 5 slides maximum of 7 highlighting this career. Post it to the Careers in Sustainability Discussion Board.
