 Assessment Task:

Prepare a 10-minute reflective presentation on the topic you were given at the start of the trimester. You will reflect on what your views were at the start of the trimester, whether your views have changed and how you have applied your learnings in a practical environment.

 Context:

In this subject, you have been introduced to the concepts of ethical, responsible communication for sustainability in a diverse work environment. The art of academic skills together with academic integrity has been an integral part of your learning journey. This assessment requires you to develop competencies in audio and video presentation techniques, use technology responsibly and showcase your presentation skills to demonstrate your learnings.

 Instructions:

1.       Prepare a 10-minute reflective presentation on the topic that was shared by your lecturer in class and via Announcements in MyLearn. Describe succinctly how you will use your learnings in your professional life. Provide examples to validate your learnings.

2.       Your presentation should address the following questions:

•        What was your initial view of the topic?

•        Which characteristics make it effective?

•        How does it impact your professional development? Give examples.

•        What are your key takeaways that have changed your style of communication?

3.       Conclude your presentation summarizing all the above. 

4.       In the presentation, you are required to: 

•        Introduce yourself.

•        Describe aspects of the topic shared with you Week 1 of the trimester

•        Provide examples and share your key learnings. Please deliver your presentation in a compelling manner with clarity, conciseness, and concreteness. 

•        Provide a conclusion. 

•        Please use at least 7 in-text citations and include them in your list of references at the end using current APA 7th edition referencing style.

•        Information from Gen AI will have to be referenced as per APA 7th edition referencing style.

5.       Preparing for the presentation: Both Face-to-face and Online students should present their findings using 5-10 PowerPoint slides. While this will be an in-class presentation for face-toface students, Online students will submit a video presentation in .mp4 format only. Pay attention to audio and light quality, sincerity and honesty in your work, clarity of your perspectives for a lasting impact.  

6.       You are strongly advised to read the rubric, which is an evaluation guide with criteria for grading your assignment—this will give you a clear picture of what a successful presentation looks like.

It is essential that you use the current APA style for citing and referencing the sources that you use. All your information gathered using Gen AI will have to be duly referenced as per APA 7th edition referencing style. Assessment Due Dates and Late Penalties:

Assessments may be submitted on or before the due date. Late penalties apply for submissions received after the due date unless an approved special consideration request is in place. These penalties include 10% deduction per day for 5 days; if your submission is late by over 5 days, you will be marked zero for the assessment. Refer to:
