Discuss the current literature on exercise recommendations and training. (C4)

Goals

The purposes of this assignment are to:

  • Investigate the current scientific literature on a specific topic related to exercise physiology.
  • Gain experience interpreting research papers,
  • Practice scientific writing skills under selected conditions.

At the end of this assignment, students should be able to understand the need for the condition to be prescribed with exercise based on current evidence and knowledge of the physiological responses to exercise. There should be an element of innovation in the exercise design.

You should write the assignment in the form of an essay with subtopics.

screening/fitness testing/outcome measures.
ii. Exercise prescription/dosage/volume (rationalise, provide guidance
on how to ensure the dosage is enough).
iii. Safety and precautions (The dos and don’ts), common injuries/complications associated with the selected exercise, and how to overcome them, barriers to exercise and how to overcome them.
e. Innovation/Invention (Own creativity)

References: 30-50 references need to be produced. About 70% of references must be current (≤ 5 years).

Number of words: 6000 to 9000 (excluding tables, pictures, figures, and references), font size – 11, spacing – 1.5.

Submission form: hardcopy (printed and comb-binded), and softcopy (Word document (including reference articles) to check for plagiarism).

Referencing style: APA 7th edition.
