Laboratory Reflective Journal
Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is for the student to reflect upon their recent lab experiences. The student should identify which specific lab activities assisted them in achieving course outcomes and contributed to the development of their future nursing practice.
Directions: Each student is required to complete two (2) journals per quarter in lab, one at midterm and one at the end of the quarter. Reflect on specific lab activities from the past 5 weeks when answering these questions:

1. (CSLO 1) How did the lab activities help you demonstrate safe patient-centered nursing care using evidence-based practice? Provide an in-depth reflection on two (2) or more experiences. Examples include:
   Patient Safety
   Safe medication use
   Environmental safety
   Identifying signs of abuse or neglect
   Identifying nutritional issues
   Using proper techniques for procedures and interventions
   Using evidence-based practice
   Using the nursing process
2. (CSLO 2) What part of the lab activities helped you to demonstrate caring behaviors towards patients? Provide
   an in-depth reflection on two (2) or more experiences. Examples include:
   Being attentive to the patient
   Recognizing and addressing needs (physical, psychosocial, & spirit)
   Identifying what matters most to the client
   Having end of life conversations
   Addressing caregiver needs
   Addressing pain and comfort
   Addressing rest and sleep
   Respecting individual values, perspectives, and concerns
3. (CSLOs 3, 5) What communication and collaboration techniques and tools did you apply while performing the lab activities? Include at least one example from each component:
