(C4, PLO1) Assignment Details Assignment Overview This assignment requires students to evaluate different business research methods used in organisational decision-making. Students will analyse how research methods are applied in real business contexts and assess their strengths, limitations, and suitability.

The emphasis is on critical evaluation, not on developing a full research proposal.

Assignment Task Students are required to work individually to:

Select a business problem Review existing studies Evaluate the research methods used Students are NOT required to design their own research proposal.

Assignment Instruction Students will complete the following steps:

Identify a Business Problem Select a real or realistic business issue – Clearly explain the context Justify why the issue requires research Select Relevant Journal Articles Choose at least four academic journal articles Ensure they are relevant to the selected problem Extract Research Method Information For each article, identify: Research approach (qualitative / quantitative / mixed) Research design (exploratory / descriptive / experimental) Sampling technique Sample size and target population Data collection method Evaluate the Research Methods (CORE PART) For each study, evaluate: Appropriateness of research approach Strengths of the research design – Limitations of the method used Suitability of sampling technique Quality of data collection Compare Across Studies Identify similarities and differences Evaluate which method is more effective Justify your evaluation Link to Decision-Making Explain how research findings support business decisions – Evaluate usefulness of each method in practice Reporting Structure Your assignment must include:
