Module Title: The Marketing Business

There are 2 parts to the Individual Pitch Proposal:

Pitch Part I: The Written Pitch.

Pitch Part II: A pitch presentation (3 minutes maximum). To be delivered in person to your small workgroup in your normal Online Tutorial time.

Pitch Part I – The Written Pitch

Your task is to identify and communicate a compelling and exciting marketing proposal to achieve growth for a brand of your choice.

You are required to select a brand with growth potential. This could be a young start-up business, SME (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise) looking to expand or even an established brand in need of a refresh.

You will submit a written proposal of 1000 words outlining the growth opportunity you have identified for the brand of your choice and briefly suggesting how elements of the marketing mix might be amended/ implemented in order to pursue that opportunity.

The growth opportunity should be shown to be clearly rooted in the findings of some relevant market research. You should aim to cover:

  • A brief outline of your chosen
  • A brief analysis of your brand’s current
  • Identify any relevant/key issues/challenges facing society/and or your brand at this time and
  • The opportunity for growth that you have
  • Your proposed outline of marketing mix

Aim to get your point across clearly and succinctly. Use appendices for extra information.

Reference all data and articles (scholarly and business articles) used to develop your pitch using the Harvard format.

Pitch Part II – A pitch presentation (3 minutes maximum)

Based on what you have written in your report you will deliver a short pitch (max 3 mins) to outline the growth opportunity and the proposed strategy you have identified to the other students in your group. This is a competitive pitch with the group deciding collectively (with tutor support) the best proposal to take forward to the Group Project stage.

You may deliver this pitch using the recommended media. This could be PowerPoint slides or Poster only.
