Using the local community assessment, each student must submit one original discussion post that addresses both questions below. Responses should demonstrate critical thinking, application of course concepts, and engagement with public health practice. (250-450 words)

Discussion Questions

1.     How does cultural competence improve communication about public health content or issues among diverse communities?

o   Consider trust, language access, health literacy, community engagement, and cultural beliefs.

2.     How does a lack of cultural competence among public health practitioners contribute to adverse health outcomes?

o   Consider miscommunication, delayed care, mistrust, stigma, and inequitable access to services. 

Child Abuse
