This project will enhance your understanding of human development across the lifespan, focusing on key developmental theories, tasks, and safety concerns. You will analyze and apply Erikson's Psychosocial
Lifespan Development Project
Objective:
This project will enhance your understanding of human
development across the lifespan, focusing on key developmental
theories, tasks, and safety concerns. You will analyze and apply
Erikson's Psychosocial Development Theory and Piaget's
Cognitive Development Theory to each life stage while
considering safety concerns relevant to nursing care.
Instructions:
You will write a 3-5 page report analyzing human development
across the lifespan. The report must be typed, double-spaced,
using 12-point Times New Roman font, and formatted according
to APA 7th edition guidelines (including a title page, in-text
citations, and a reference page).
For each life stage, include the following sections:
1. Age Group Definition
• Specify the age range for this stage (e.g., Infancy: Birth to 1
year).
2. Erikson's Psychosocial Stage
• Identity the stage.
• Explain the primary conflict and how it is resolved.
• Provide two examples of how this stage manifests in real
life.
3. Piaget's Cognitive Development Stage
• Identify the stage.
• Explain key characteristics of cognitive abilities at this stage.
• Provide two examples of behaviors or learning processes
seen at this stage.
4. Developmental Tasks
• List the key physical, emotional, cognitive, and social tasks
individuals accomplish in this stage.
5. Safety Concerns
• Identify three safety concerns specific to this stage of life.
• Explain why these concerns are relevant.
• Describe how nurses can promote safety and prevent injury
for individuals in this stage.
