Overview

Now that we have spent time looking at ethics and diversity separately, it is time to bring them together. In this week's assignment, you will write a 7–9 page paper that analyzes both ethical and diversity-related issues as they relate to a specific topic in research.

Then, you will develop evidence-based strategies to address those issues. 

Preparation

To prepare for this assignment, first select a topic to focus your paper on: 

●      The impact of diversity on research outcomes. 

●      The ethical considerations of conducting research with vulnerable populations. 

●      The role of cultural competence in research. 

●      The ethical implications of using big data in research. 

Then, spend some time in the Capella University Library locating at least eight peer-reviewed, scholarly journal articles that support your analysis and strategy development. In particular, the RSCH7020 Library Research Guide has been created to help you in this course. Explore the different tabs to find the resources you need. 

Assignment Instructions

Write a 7–9 page research paper that analyzes the ethical and diversity-related issues that impact research in the topic you chose to focus on. The paper should include: 

1.     An appraisal of ethical and diversity-related considerations for engaging in scholarly research. 

○      Reflect what you have learned throughout this course and what you as a researcher need to consider when you begin engaging in scholarly research. 

○ Discuss the ethical and diversity related concepts you need to be aware of as a future researcher.

2.     An analysis of the roles that ethics and diversity present in a specific situation in research. 

○      Explain the role that ethics plays as it relates to your selected topic. 

○ Explain the role that diversity plays in relation to your selected topic. 

○ Provide an analysis of the connections between ethics and diversity in your topic. 

3.     An analysis of strategies that can be used to address these issues.

○      Critically analyze appropriate strategies that fit the topic. 

○ Identify strategies that would not be appropriate for the topic and explain why.

4.     A conclusion that succinctly summarizes the key points of the paper. 

Additional Requirements

Your assignment should also meet the following requirements:

●      Written communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.

●      Resources: Support your work with at least eight peer-reviewed scholarly sources.

●      APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to APA style and formatting guidelines. 

○      Include both a title and a references page.

○ Refer to Academic Writer for guidance.

●      Length and Format: 7–9 typed, double-spaced pages of content in addition to a title page and references page in a Microsoft Word document. Other file formats will not be accepted.  

○      Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
