The evaluation process analyzes the inputs, outputs, and the program itself to assess its execution quality. This facilitates the identification of areas for improvement in the provision of services. Supervision is of paramount importance in the field of social work. The process of termination is a crucial aspect of the relationship between a social worker and a client, and it aligns with the ethical values of self-determination, autonomy, and respect. The termination procedure should ideally commence after the client's objectives have been achieved. The designated time for work has ended.
The customer has withdrawn their interest in further continuation. However, termination might occur for other reasons, such as when the client's mental health requirements surpass the social worker's professional knowledge and skills. The therapist is unable or unable, due to valid reasons, to continue providing therapy when a conflict of interest is discovered after treatment has begun. The customer demonstrates insufficient advancement towards treatment objectives or does not adhere to therapy suggestions.
The client exhibits a lack of engagement in treatment. Therapists are advised to have a last session with their clients to assess the overall development before concluding treatment. However, there are instances where this is not possible, such as when the client ceases communication with the therapist. Obtaining informed consent is crucial in the interaction between a social worker and a client, and the process of terminating the relationship should be addressed during the first informed consent procedure. This enables the client to comprehend the specific conditions under which they will be involved in the professional relationship and to establish practical expectations.
