INTRODUCTION
This module is part of ‘Professional Life Practice’ – a programme of study that is formed from a series of interventions and activities that are integrated alongside subject specific modules. It is designed to facilitate opportunities to engage with professional practice and establish the professional currency that will drive enterprise and employability. The work you undertake in this module will also prepare you for your Work Based Learning module in Semester 2.
PROJECT BRIEF: Through workshops delivered during this module you will undertake the following activities:
- Research your industry and use findings to develop an industry map and personal career map. (weeks 1, 2, & 3)
- Conduct a personal and professional skills audit, identifying your strengths and areas for development. (weeks 1-3)
- Identify and evaluate 4 different types of work-based learning experiences that will contribute to your current career goal. (weeks 1-4; week 9)
- Develop a set of personal career materials, including a career plan, an up-to-date CV, cover letter, and professional social media profile (LinkedIn). (week 7; week 9)
- Attend appropriate industry events, including (but not limited to) Careers Lab workshops, guest speakers and external events, reflecting on how these have developed or influenced your professional knowledge, skills and behaviours. (weeks 1-12)

Your discussion can be in person or online, but it must be recorded, transcribed or documented with screenshots. You should also refer to information shared by interviewees in your journal submission. (weeks 1-3 for the research; 4 & 5 for the prep; any week thereafter for the interview)
