Course Learning Outcome (CLO):

Group formation 

This is a group-based assignment. Hence, for this assignment, you would continue to work with your group members from assignment 1. Inactive members would be awarded zero, and the group won't be penalised. 

Submission: 

Assignment 2 (15%) 

  • Submit a PDF version of the Assignment.
  • Submit a softcopy in Moodle (only the group leaders submit the copy in Moodle). 

Presentation (10%) 

  • Submit a PowerPoint document of the presentation by the due date.
  • Submit a softcopy (preferably a PowerPoint slide) in Moodle (only the group leaders submit the copy in Moodle).
  • F2F presentation to be conducted for F2F students in week 13, while WebEx presentation to be conducted for online mode students. More information on the presentation to be released in week 12. 

For the presentation, groups are to prepare presentation slides, not more than 10 minutes discussing the important aspects of the project proposal (Content should be selected based on need analysis, as it is for the client). An additional 5 minutes would be used for Question and Answer. Each member has to be present on the day of the presentation as its group assessment. Presentation schedule and other necessary details will be out in the upcoming weeks. Students are to strictly follow the marking rubrics provided for mark breakdown.

Details on the Case Study: 

ABC Bank is a mid-sized banking institution operating nationally with over 12 branches and 1 million customers. The bank currently relies on a fragmented system of legacy software tools for its operations, including separate platforms for HR, accounting, customer service, compliance, and risk management. This lack of integration leads to: 

Duplicate data entries 
Compliance reporting delays 
Poor customer service coordination 
Inefficient HR and payroll processing 
Limited analytics capabilities 

You and your group members will assume the role of Project Management professionals and lead a hypothetical team of diverse individuals who have done this type of project before. Follow the marking rubrics and support the findings where possible with references. Diagrams, tables, and figures can be included for the presentation of ideas. The report should be between 10-12 pages long. 

The following is a suggested list of items you should include in your assignment 2 report: 

Introduction: The first paragraph should introduce the topic, organisation, and purpose, while subsequent paragraphs should describe the case you are presenting. 

Project Charter -Budget is set at $250,000 while the timeline is 12 months till going live. 

Project Schedule: Define all of the work of the project - Work-breakdown Structure (WBS) for all the activities in the project (minimum 20 activities) with necessary tables. Include AON where SS dependency relationships are used at least 5 places in the predecessors, and it should be between SS to SS4. 

Cost Management: Estimate the resources required to complete the work and their costs -Human resource: pay rates, Facilities, Equipment, Money, Materials and prepare the following: 

  • Prepare the Skills inventory, which will show the staff and skills mapping
  • Prepare the Needs inventory, which will show the activity and skills mapping
  • Combine the Needs inventory and Skills inventory to make the Staff Assignments 

Risk Management Plan: Identify project risks in the 4 risk categories (Technical, execution, legal and financial). Use the Risk Assessment Template. 

Change Management Plan: Establishing the scope change management process -how will change be accommodated to the scope to the project. 

  • Prepare a template Change Request Form suited to your business and/or problem and define the Change Request Process (how a change request will be handled). 

Communication Plan: how monitoring and controlling will happen, nature and frequency of reporting, how quality will be ensured etc. Provide evidence.
