This assessment is delivered in TWO components:

Part One. You are required to produce a TEAM report, with each team member preparing a relevant section of the report. The overall report should be 1,000-words, with appropriate academic references and appendices as considered necessary to support your report. This should summarise the background research that underpins the recommendations made in the presentation (part two).

The report should include the following appendices (where appropriate):

  • SWOT analysis

  • PESTEL analysis

  • Five Forces analysis

  • Implementation plan including a Gantt chart

  • Risk register and mitigation plan

  • Costings

  • A copy of the presentation

Part Two. You are required to deliver a 10-minute presentation in a simulated briefing to the client of your project. Each member of your team is required to take an active role and participate in the presentation. You should include an accompanying set of slides that communicate the important points including:

  • Your agreement on the scope of your project

  • Summary of the research used within the project, which underpin the recommendations

  • Recommendations drawn from the research undertaken

  • The implementation plan that highlights the steps required to successfully implement the recommendations.

The presentation is considered to be equivalent to 1,000-words for this assignment.

EACH member of the Team should submit a copy of the TEAM report along with the accompanying slides to the Blackboard submission point by the due date. Each member of the team who was involved in the team presentation will receive the same mark for Part B.

Notes:

  1. This is a TEAM piece of work
  2. It should be presented as a word-processed report with headings, tables, etc. and appendices containing extra detail as/if required.
  3. Appendices can be included to provide supporting information to the main body of your report and presentation.
  4. 4.    All material should be fully substantiated, using academic, commercial and journalistic references, together with relevant academic concepts, techniques and theory to support your points. References should be cited using the ‘APA’ method.

Late submission of work

Where coursework is submitted without approval, after the published hand-in deadline, the following penalties will apply.

For coursework submitted up to 1 working day (24 hours) after the published hand-in deadline without approval, 10% of the total marks available for the assessment (i.e.100%) shall be deducted from the assessment mark.

For clarity: a late piece of work that would have scored 65%, 55% or 45% had it been handed in on time will be awarded 55%, 45% or 35% respectively as 10% of the total available marks will have been deducted.

The Penalty does not apply to Pass/Fail Modules, i.e. there will be no penalty for late submission if assessments on Pass/Fail are submitted up to 1 working day (24 hours) after the published hand-in deadline.

Coursework submitted more than 1 working day (24 hours) after the published hand-in deadline without approval will be regarded as not having been completed. A mark of zero will be awarded for the assessment and the module will be failed, irrespective of the overall module mark.

For clarity: if the original hand-in time on working day A is 12noon the 24-hour late submission allowance will end at 12noon on working day B.

These provisions apply to all assessments, including those assessed on a Pass/Fail basis
