What am I required to do in this assignment?

001 Group Presentation:

In student teams and in response to a specific brief you are required to develop and present a marketing plan for the promotional launch of a new product or service for a specified organisation. The presentations will be delivered live in module lecture week 9 supported by PowerPoint slides or equivalent digital presentation artefact and should last 15 minutes with contributions expected from each team member. The results of these presentations will contribute 40% to the overall module assessment with the same mark being awarded to each team ember.

This assessment is designed to enable you to:

  • Work effectively as part of a team on a given task, meeting obligations to other team members.
  • Communicate effectively using a range of oral and visual communication tools to identify and present issues and challenges, apply relevant theories, and propose practical solutions.
  • Access and use a range of information tools online and offline to search and find relevant business resources and extract business data and information needed to define and inform a business marketing plan.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the fundamental concepts, tools and processes of marketing and differentiation of marketing mix strategies.

002 Written essay (marketing plan):

You are required to submit a 1500 word written marketing plan based on the plan devised and presented by their team. It is expected you will expand significantly upon the team plan to demonstrate your individual knowledge and comprehension of marketing planning in context of and with reference to the theories and concepts covered by the module lectures and the core text books, as well as evidence of your own independent wider reading and secondary research. This should include a reflection on your teamwork and individual team role with critical analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the team plan. The result of this written essay will contribute 60% of the overall module assessment and is designed to enable you to:

  • Communicate effectively using written communication tools to identify and present issues and challenges, apply relevant theories, and propose practical solutions.
  • Access and use a range of information tools online and offline to search and find relevant business resources and extract business data and information needed to define and inform a business marketing plan.
