Authenticity of Students Work

Where students are suspected of assessment misconduct the following processes will be followed:

  • The tutor will assess the level/amount of suspected assessment misconduct, prepare evidence and discuss with relevant Programme Coordinator.
  • Where the intention of the student is considered clearly innocent, the work will be assessed as is.
  • If appropriate, advice on academic integrity may be given by the tutor to the student

Where doubt persists, a meeting is to be arranged with the student, student support person, relevant tutor and Programme Coordinator to present the allegation, evidence, and to provide the student with an opportunity to discuss this. Where the Programme Coordinator and Tutor are one and the same, another Manager within the relevant PTE may be asked to participate.

Where assessment misconduct is established and acknowledged by the student, the student may be instructed to resubmit the assessment if allowed by the Programme Coordinator.

Other actions can include awarding a reduced grade or awarding a failing mark/grade. A note is made on the students file.

Where the assessment misconduct is serious or has not been acknowledged by the student, the relevant Programme Manager or Programme Coordinator must discuss the situation with Academic Director. This discussion will lead to a decision to either deal with the issue in the PTE or initiate the student discipline process. The tutor will inform the student of their appeal rights as detailed in the Student Handbook.

This assessment requires you to submit two separate components:

  1. Written Document: Answers to the assessment questions.
  2. Presentation: A slide presentation that you will present to your team.

Both parts are designed to assess your ability to not only understand the content but also communicate it effectively, demonstrating leadership in presenting information.

The aim is to enhance effective communication to foster collaboration across various sections while keeping senior management and stakeholders informed about your team's activities and initiatives.

Part A Written Document

Task 1: Contemporary Business Communication Strategies (LO1) - 20 marks

  1. Describe two (2) contemporary communication strategies your team will use to meet operational objectives.
    (6 marks)



Include the two (2) operational objectives the strategies will enhance or achieve.
(2 marks)

Note: Choose strategies that can be effectively applied in a business setting and will allow for an explanation in the part b) of this question.

Provide a minimum of two (2) credible sources for your strategies.



  1. Explain how the two (2) strategies will be applied in the business to meet the business operational objectives.



Your explanation must include the following components for each strategy:



  • What is one (1) key message that needs to be communicated?

  • One (1) appropriate communication channel that will be used?

  • Steps/Actions: Three (3) specific steps or actions that will be taken to implement the strategy?



(6 marks 2 strategies with 1 mark for each component)



  1. Justify how your two (2) communication strategies will enhance or achieve the operational objectives. (Two (2) reasons are required to justify each strategy.)



(4 marks 1 mark for each reason).



  1. Explain how your team will measure the success of these strategies.
    (2 marks).



Task 2: Strategies to Overcome Barriers to Communication (LO1) - 10 marks



  1. Describe two (2) types of barriers that could hinder the effectiveness of the communication strategies provided in Task 1.
    (Include how they create a barrier to communication).



Minimum of two (2) credible sources referenced.

(4 marks)



  1. Describe two (2) different techniques that your team could use to overcome the two (2) barriers and justify your answers.



(6 marks 2 marks for each description and 1 mark for each justification


Task 3: Creating and Maintaining Sustainable Relationships with Stakeholders (LO2) - 21 marks



  1. Explain how we can create good relationships with key business stakeholders.



Minimum of two (2) credible sources referenced for your strategies.

(3 marks)



  1. Describe three (3) strategies your team will use to build and maintain sustainable business relationships with stakeholders.



(6 marks)



  1. Describe two (2) success indicators that your team will use to measure the impact of the two (2) strategies for building sustainable relationships.



(6 marks 3 marks for each indicator)



  1. Explain two (2) strategies your team will use to restore a breakdown in a business relationship you may have with a stakeholder.



(6 marks 3 marks for each explanation)

Part B: Presentation (LO1 & LO2) 20 marks

Create a slide presentation to introduce and explain strategies for improving communication to your team.This must include a video of you presenting.

  • The two (2) contemporary communication strategies your team will use to meet operational objectives.

  • The justification for how your two (2) communication strategies will enhance or achieve the operational objectives.

  • Explain to your team how the success of the strategies will be measured.

  • Describe to your team the two (2) different techniques that will be used to overcome the two (2) barriers you identified.

  • Describe the three (3) strategies your team will use to build and maintain sustainable business relationships with stakeholders.
