Your Task
This assessment is to be completed individually. In this assessment, you will create a recorded presentation on the implementation of an information system for a small retail company.
Assessment Description
You will demonstrate your skills in information systems development, Agile methodologies, Unified Modelling Language (UML), and documentation and communication of information system requirements to various stakeholders. You will need to apply theoretical knowledge and practical skills to develop a business proposal presentation for a small retail company to implement an information system that can help the company in inventory management, sales, and customer relationship management.
This assessment aims to achieve the following subject learning outcomes:
LO1 | Explain the components of an information system used in organisations to support business operations. |
LO2 | Describe how information systems are used to perform routine business activities in alignment with business strategies. |
LO3 | Identify the ethical, social, privacy and security issues related to information systems used in organisations. |

TEC103 Assessment Instructions
Follow the structure below for your presentation (recommend using MS PowerPoint). The presentation should be 8 minutes to cover all the necessary aspects.
1. Cover page (1 slide)
- The project title, your full name, student ID and date of presentation
2. Overview (1 slide)
- The overview of all topics you are going to present
3. Information system meets the business strategy (2 slides)
- The importance of any information system development in meeting the business strategy
- Your consideration of how the information system in the case study will support the business (e.g., the benefits)
4. Use of Agile (Scrum) Methodology (2 slides)
- Brief explanation of Agile (Scrum) Methodology
- Your consideration of how you will use Agile Methodology in this information system implementation project
5. UML diagram (1 slide)
- Use Case diagram x 1
6. Ethical and social issues related to information systems (1 slide)
- Your consideration of ethical and social issues for the information system implementation in the case study
7. Reference (1 slide)
- At least 2 references in acceptable referencing style

Kaltura: You can record the video presentation using this tool and submit the recording after reviewing.
Zoom: It is our teaching and learning tool, and you can choose to record on your computer so that you can get the recording file in MP4 format to upload for submission in Kaltura.
Turn on your webcam so we can see you to assess your presentation skills.
- You MUST host your video recording file in Kaltura only using the MyKBS portal (using any other video hosting platforms will NOT be considered for marking).
- You DO NOT need to submit your PowerPoint slide because Kaltura only allows you to submit one file, which should be the video file, and this video should have your PowerPoint slides shared on screen when you record it.
